The plot centres around Liza and her Tita Loleng discussing what happened at her half brother’s funeral while making sinigang.
Every narrative, including Sinigang, contains a moral lesson or ideals. The moral ideals I’ve learnt are that we can’t undo what we’ve done in the past, and we can’t undo the faults of others; we just have to accept it since everyone makes mistakes because no one is perfect. We simply need to forgive and forget in order to live a better life without carrying grudges against anyone.
Even though her father cheated on her, she welcomed him since she knows she still loves her father.
And in terms of the impact on me, I’m in the same scenario as Liza; I, too, have a family problem, but mine is already broken, so… You know, it has a significant impact on me, but knowing that my father… I believe he no longer loves us; I have no idea where he and his mistress are, and they already have a child. In Liza’s narrative, I believe he forgives him for what her father did to their family because her mother says that no one is flawless and that everyone makes mistakes, but my father is a long way from his father in that the mistake he committed with us was repeated multiple times to different women. I’m not sure why, but my rage toward him hasn’t subsided, and I can’t forgive him any longer..because forgiveness will never ever be an option. So talking about my advice to everyone: please be careful when choosing your partners, and don’t be afraid to not forgive people who have done something wrong to you repeatedly. Don’t think you’re just trying to forgive because you feel sorry for that person, even if he has done something wrong to you repeatedly. Darling, speak for yourself. You should not be mistreated simply because you are a kind person.
